Two Knitted Socks
A. Phone, filtered to Dave, John and Jade.
As per Jade's suggestion, and after much deliberating about it, I have decided we must have a sleep over.
Not immediately, as you all are surely occupied with the homecoming and shenanigans, but perhaps the week after it, provided you all are properly interested in taking part.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

I was wondering if you perhaps had the intention to attend to the Homecoming party that is to happen this Friday.
[Surprisingly enough she manages to sound completely uninterested.]
C. Mayfield High, after school. Open to anyone.
[So instead of heading back home Rose has decided to sit around and knit. Knit like a madwoman for all the time she had spent deprived of her secret pleasure. She hasn't managed to get her hands on purple yarn yet, but she has a nice stock of black, brown and green, among others. She wouldn't have imagined getting red yarn would be so complicated, but that's Mayfield for you.
She currently seems to be putting a pair of socks together, although one is almost entirely black with blue dots and the other is a succession of green and brown streaks. She's bored, you guys!]

Pssh, you just like him better because he has opposable thumbs. But yeah, I admit I'm probably not gonna be any good for nail-painting and spin-the-fucking-bottle since those are totally the most important things to do.

I meant to invite him as a way to reinforce whatever unity binds the four of us, as shaky and changing as it is. I have nothing against you, and given you and him are pretty much the same, sans the feathers...well, the differences are more based on your life experience, but alas, that's not that different at this point.

So basically I'm being excluded on the basis of feathers and/or the fact that I spent the past four months in a doomed timeline and fifteen hours in the right one while he's spent more than seventy in the right one? Since obviously that is a lot more critical than the several years we've known each other?

Yes, and not really. I partially didn't think you would like to attend. You and Dave aren't that different, as I was saying, but I don't think neither of you would enjoy having someone equally cool sharing a room.

You must also understand that even if I'm well prepared to deal with strange occurrences, there being two Daves is still quite something to digest. At any rate, you can come if you think you will enjoy yourself in doing so.

And don't worry about it, one of us is a fucking orange bird, the other one still rocks a body that all the ladies be dyin' for. I am even okay if you call him Alpha Dave and me Davesprite, that is a thing I am cool with now, not to imply I ever was not.
